If you have ever wanted to place an ad on Google, you would have visited Google Ads. Earlier, Google Ads was known as Google Adwords but the name was changed last year. So if you have used Google Ads for placing an ad then you would know that there are 13 columns for setting criterias related to any ad. Now, Google has added a new column inside Google Ads. And this new column is named as ‘Recommended Columns’.

What this new column does is it calls attention to columns relevant to your account and campaign settings. Therefore, if you highlight your recommended columns inside this column then your ad performance will be improved for the specific factors.

This means that you can focus on the things that are important from each column. For now, Recommended Columns recommends certain columns Earlier, you would see Bid Strategy Type if you’re using bid automation. With this update, you will not see Bid Strategy Type as a required column.

One more thing to note is that Recommendations are turned on by default. This is to make it easier for you to place an ad. However, you can easily turn off recommendations from your account. You also have the ability to opt out of a specific recommendation, add the columns you want to show consistently or ignore them

Currently, the recommendation columns feature is half baked at best. However, it is definitely a step in the right direction. With this, advertisers will know if they have selected all the relevant metrics. As mentioned earlier, these recommendations are helpful for those not having to use Google Ads. It is also helpful for those who are setting up ads for the first time. However, power users would require recommendations to be more robust for them to use this feature daily.
