Apple is reportedly preparing to launch a new version of its entry-level iPad, the iPad 11, in early 2025. The highly anticipated update will come with a range of new features, including Apple’s first wireless modem for improved Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity, and the latest iPadOS 18.3 software.

An anonymous source with a reliable track record revealed on Monday that the iPad 11 is expected to be released around the same time as the public rollout of iPadOS 18.3, which is typically scheduled for late January. The beta for iPadOS 18.3 was recently released to developers, but it contained few major changes, aside from preparations to support new devices like the iPad 11. The update could also include optimizations to support the new hardware, including integration with Apple’s new wireless modem.

The iPad 11 will replace the current iPad 10, which has been on the market since 2022. The new device is expected to feature a faster chip, possibly the A17 Pro, which is already used in the iPad mini. This new chip would enhance the iPad’s performance and capabilities, including compatibility with Apple’s growing ecosystem of AI-powered features.

Apple is also reportedly working on other major product updates for 2025, including a new iPhone SE and an updated iPad Air, all of which could be announced together at a special event or through a series of promotional videos.

While the iPad 10 is still available for $349, it is expected that the price of the iPad 11 could be slightly higher, though specific pricing details have not yet been confirmed. Apple is expected to continue to sell the iPad 10 at a reduced price, with current deals on Amazon offering the device for as low as $279.

The launch of the iPad 11 will be a significant move for Apple as it continues to update and refresh its iPad lineup. The timing of the release, around the spring of 2025, coincides with the beginning of Apple’s spring product cycle, which traditionally sees a flurry of new hardware announcements.

With this new iPad set to launch alongside iPadOS 18.3, users can expect an updated experience, enhanced performance, and new connectivity features, marking a key step forward for Apple’s entry-level tablet.
