Samsung is now rolling out its One UI 8 beta program to the Galaxy S23 series, allowing owners of its 2023 flagship devices to test the latest software ahead of the public release. The program, which is based on Android 16, has been available for the Galaxy S24 and S25 models for several weeks.

For Galaxy S23 Ultra users, the update arrives as firmware version YHB, a substantial 3181MB download. This initial beta build brings not only the revamped One UI 8 interface and Android 16’s core features but also includes the latest September 2025 security patch.

The expansion doesn’t stop with the S23 line. Samsung has also opened the beta program to several of its popular mid-range devices, including the Galaxy A55, A54, and A35. Furthermore, the company has indicated that its latest foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, are slated to receive the beta build within the next few days.

One UI 8 introduces several key enhancements. Users will notice a redesigned Quick Share UI, designed to make wireless file sharing more intuitive. Samsung has also updated many of its native applications, including Samsung Internet and Reminders, and enhanced the functionality of apps such as Samsung Health and Secure Folder.

Galaxy S23 owners interested in participating can enroll through the Samsung Members application. Once registered, the beta firmware can be downloaded by navigating to Settings > Software Update. While installing the beta will not affect user data, participants are warned that opting out and downgrading to the stable One UI 7 will result in a complete data wipe of their device.

Currently, the beta is live for all eligible devices in India. Samsung plans to expand availability to South Korea, select European countries, and the United States soon, where it will be limited to unlocked Galaxy S23 units. The final, stable version of One UI 8 is expected to launch with the Galaxy S25 series later this month.

Likely, the rollout of stable One UI 8 for the S24 and S23 series will be slightly delayed as the company will take feedback from beta testers before rolling the update out after removing any bugs reported by the beta testers of these devices.
