Apple is reportedly planning to launch an all-new iPhone 17 Slim model next year. This comes as part of a broader strategy to enhance its iPhone offerings, according to insights from reliable analyst Jeff Pu and previously noted by industry expert Ming-Chi Kuo.

The iPhone 17 Slim is anticipated to prioritize form over function, featuring a sleek design and simplified specifications. Key details about the device have emerged, revealing that it will include a 6.6-inch display, a single rear-facing camera, and an upgraded front camera with 24MP capabilities. The rear camera will boast a 48MP sensor, setting it apart from earlier models.

Pu’s investor note outlines additional specifications for the iPhone 17 Slim: it will be powered by the A19 chip and equipped with 8GB of RAM. Biometrics will be handled by Face ID, and the device will have an aluminum casing, emphasizing both style and durability. This model is expected to serve as a “replacement” for the current Plus variant, though it remains unclear whether this refers to pricing, screen size, or other characteristics. Speculations have also suggested that the iPhone 17 Slim could be priced higher than the iPhone Pro Max.

In addition to the Slim model, Pu provided insights into the entire iPhone 17 lineup. The standard iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Slim will both feature 8GB of RAM and the A19 chip, while the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to have 12GB of RAM paired with a more powerful A19 Pro chip. Notably, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a “narrowed Dynamic Island,” a design change enabled by new “metalens” technology for the proximity sensor, potentially reducing the size of the Face ID module.

All four models in the iPhone 17 lineup are set to include the enhanced 24MP front-facing camera, a significant upgrade from the current 12MP camera system. This shift indicates Apple’s commitment to improving the photographic capabilities of its devices, particularly for selfies and video calls.

While the reported specifications and features have not changed significantly since earlier predictions, the iPhone 17 lineup is still several months away from its official announcement, expected in September 2025. As production and supply chain factors evolve, Apple may adjust its plans, but for now, excitement is building for what could be a transformative year for the iPhone series.
