Yesterday, Google has officially included special announcements within its Performance report and added a” Special Announcements” report tab within the Enhancements section of Search Console. Previously, it was being used to highlight COVID-19 announcements in Google Search. Further, Google’s Rich Results Test tool also now supports SpecialAnnouncement schema markup.
The Search Console Performance report also shows the performance of the SpecialAnnouncement marked-up pages consisting of impressions, clicks, and CTR results to monitor the performance.

Further, this can now be used to check live pages that have been marked up with SpecialAnnouncement schema. Additionally, the site owners can use Rich Results Test tool to test the structured data marked up pages.

Rich Results Test should make it easier to analyze how the SpecialAnnouncement structured data pages perform on Google Search to identify and fix issues. This is very beneficial during this time of pandemic as it may be very useful in distributing health and safety information.
