YouTube has opted for running an experiment to see the chapters automatically getting inserted into the selected videos with the help of machine learning while identifying the automated video segments within each of the clips. The initial step was, rolling out video chapters to all creators in May. This was to enable them to define specific segments of their video.

On this matter, YouTube explained:

“We want to make it easier for people to navigate videos with video chapters, so we are experimenting with automatically adding video chapters ( so creators don’t have to add timestamps manually). We’ll use machine learning to recognize text in order to auto-generate video chapters. We’re testing this out with a small group of videos.”

This initiative is to see the chapters added with all the YouTube clips. And the creators do not have to manually add them, which is going to give YouTube more flexibility to define the specific segments about the search queries.

YouTube has opted for the addition of the video chapters in May. This is for creating the specific segments on the playback bar for signifying each part of the clip. It makes the entire thing easier for the viewers to skip through the sections they are finding interesting. At the same time, it also enables YouTube with the extension of Google. This is to identify the specific video elements in response to the user queries.

So if you are looking for a particular video, Google will be able to provide you with the listing of the video clip along with the specific segments. However, it can end up with the framing segments into the weird spaces which can ruin your content’s flow.

The addition of this automated video segmentation is going to make significant improvements to YouTube’s search capacity. YouTube says that creators can step out of the experiment. Though the trial is going to happen on a small scale initially. But it also means that you’ll be able to see a lot more video clips shortly.
