One thing that we know regarding the COVID-19 outbreak is that a lot of people have their queries regarding the outbreak of the virus and it means that they are searching a lot.

However, the problem is also the fact that a lot of fake news and misinformation is spreading around and people have no option but to trust it since they want to know things and fast at that.

For this reason, we know that the responsibilities for platforms used by billions of people every day and WhatsApp has been used by billions of people every day.

Now, WhatsApp has released a very useful chatbot which is a commendable effort from the Facebook-owned platform. According to the report, Whatsapp has partnered with the World Health Organization who is the main organization responsible for handling all the disease-related crisis around the world.

Since WHO is also the main institute which keeps count of everything regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, WhatsApp has built a chatbot which answers people’s queries regarding the virus outbreak.

This chatbot can be triggered by you when you save the number which is (+41 79 893 1892) to their phone contacts, then text the word ‘Hi’ in a WhatsApp message to begin. Once you send the message, a message with all the options will be presented to you which are FAQs and you just have to press the numbers to get the answers.

“The new service, which is free to use, has been designed to answer questions from the public about Coronavirus, and to give prompt, reliable and official information 24 hours a day, worldwide. This will also serve government decision-makers by providing the latest numbers and situation reports.” says WhatsApp in a statement.

This is a great initiative by WhatsApp because it is known that the platform’s end-to-end encryption has also helped spread a lot of fake news already which needs to be stopped.
