Twitter is going to launch story-like Fleets for its users

Twitter is going to allow all its iOS and Android users to have the story-like fleets option in their story after its announcement for the expansion of stories for the users in Japan. Now you can create a story on Twitter with the dedicated Stories – sorry- Flees bubbles on the top of the news feed. Users can share their daily updates, which will be deleted after 24 hours.

According to Twitter, these stories are going to fulfill users’ needs on this platform. As per the reports of Twitter, many tweets remain saved in the drafts of users and they never reveal them. Twitter said that their purpose is to create a conversation line in public about what is happening and talking about it. But some people complain that it’s too public and the toll of handling the retweets and likes is very challenging. And that is why some of the tweets remain in drafts.

The Twitter product lead Kavyon Beykpour, in his discussion about Fleets, said that “Now, more than ever, we think it’s critical to provide people another way to share what’s on their mind; without feeling self-conscious about it lasting on the record and without the pressure of public replies. Those Tweets that never got past “Drafts” can finally see the light.”

According to Twitter, the story-like fleets will give their users a platform to temporarily share their less popular thoughts. Here is what you can do with Fleet:

Sharing Tweets: Fleets will provide users to share individual tweets, along with a colored background.

Text fleets: Users can share their texts on a colored background with a range of color options.

Video or Photo: Users can also post video clips or photos on the Fleet.

There do not exist any special effects or AR tools as of now, but Twitter said that they will add stickers and broadcasting soon. They are also working on the collaborative Fleets, which is going to appear with the double-bubble display. Though this is not available at the launch, it will create more scope for the collaborative tweets.

Though it is not yet added, Twitter will add them soon and many other new features. At the launch, Fleet lacks the advancement in its features, as there are no advanced creation effects, functionalities, and tools. However, this step is to see how the users are responding.

However, Twitter is optimistic that this form of stories will give users the freedom to express themselves better. Also, the company said that if your DM’s are open, then viewers can reply to your Fleet. To maximize the experience, users may need to update their DM settings.
